Preschool Daily Schedule


8:00 am: Your child is excited as they arrive at school. They give you a hug then run to join their friends in the pretend area. They have created a pirate ship and are searching for buried treasure.

8:30 am: It's learning center time. Your child is eager to explore the art activity the teacher has put out for the day. Having introduced the concept of sculpting the day before; your child looks forward to creating their own sculpture with clay. As they mold and form the clay into a masterpiece, they increase strength in their hands, wrists and fingers as well as increase hand-eye coordination and visual perception skills.

9:00 am: It's circle time! Gathering the children on the carpet it's time to practice some math skills using the calendar. Singing the days of the week song, counting, patterning and learning about the weather are just a few of the things they enjoy during circle time.

9:30 am: Next it's snack time. The children help themselves to organic fruit bars, organic fruit slices and low fat organic milk, practicing to share and take turns as the food is passed around the table.

10:00 am: Time to go to the tree tops playground. At the playground the children ride around on the tricycles. Practicing to steer them they are also improving their full-body coordination. When they are done on the tricycles they use the playhouse to pretend they are the three little pigs scaring away the big bad wolf.

11:00 am: Back from the playground the teacher sets up a math activity. Giving each child a handful of assorted dried beans they are asked to sort the beans by its color and then to count how many of each color they have. After they sort and count, the teacher brings them together to help all of the children to create a graph of the different colors they counted. Together they explore the idea of how you can collect and display data as well as, compare data.

12:00 pm: It's been a busy morning and your child is ready for their nutritious lunch. Choosing an all natural veggie tortilla wrap with organic lettuce, organic tomatoes, and serving themselves some organic fruit salad they then pass the tray to their classmate who also takes some lunch and passes the tray along. After lunch is finished your child helps the teacher clean the table and push in the chairs so they can get ready for rest.

12:30 pm: Still not quite ready to close their eyes, your child chooses a book to read on their cot before they drift off to sleep.

2:00 pm: After waking up it's time for another organic snack. Today the children enjoy organic oat bars and organic apple juice.

2:30 pm: Rested and full it's time to run around again. The teacher decides it is a perfect opportunity to take the class to the park. Once at the park she pulls out the parachute and the children grab on to the handles and run in a circle excitedly. Then up the parachute goes and all the children scurry to run beneath the colorful tent it has created. Who knew building gross motor skills could be so much fun!

3:45 pm: It's story time. To help foster literacy development the teacher has chosen to read and do, an activity with the story Goldilocks and The Three Bears. First they all read the story together on the carpet then it's time to retell the story using the felt board. All the children get a chance to help put the pieces of the story together and tell the story learning to wait patiently while their classmates take their turn.

4:30 pm: It's learning center time again and your child chooses to play restaurant in the pretend center. Cooking up a fabulous meal with her classmate they set the table and then act out ordering and serving a meal to their teacher.

5:30 pm: It's almost time to get ready to go home. You arrive to find your child playing a learning game on the computer. They jump up to give you a hug and their teacher fills you in on their exciting day.
