Toddler Daily Schedule


 

 

7-9 am Morning drop off and free play (During free play, the children are encouraged to explore all of the educational centers in the classroom.  The teachers are close by observing and interacting with the children.  This is a great time for the children to learn through inquiry and ask questions out of curiosity.  Free time also allows for the children to develop social and emotional skills while interacting with their peers.)

9-9:15 am Clean up

9:15-9:45 am Circle time and prepare for morning snack (During circle time, the teachers interact with the children in a whole group setting. The teachers create different learning activities structured to meet their developmental needs.  These activities directly relate to the weekly lesson plan that is sent home to the parents.)

9:45-10 am morning snack

10-11 am Gross motor (Gross motor is either in the in-door tree house, rooftop playground, or at Skinner/Union Park.  When gross motor takes place in the tree house, they usually spend some of their time focusing on yoga)

11-11:45 am Art (During art, the teachers call a few children to the table at a time. The teachers guide the children through the art activity. The children are encouraged to use creative and fine motor skills.  The art project directly relates to the themed lesson plan on the week)

11:45-12:15 pm lunch

12-:15-2:30 pm Nap time (The children sleep on their individual cots until about 2:30. Some children sleep longer, some children sleep for a shorter amount of time.  The teachers will help soothe the children to sleep until they become independent sleepers)

2:30-3 pm waking up from nap and afternoon snack

3-4 pm Gross motor (Same as above)

4-430 pm Music (The children are welcome to use various types of simply instruments and sing along with our music teacher, Mr Brian)

4:30-6 pm Free play, afternoon pretzel snack, and pick-up
