My son goes to Little Green Tree House, and I absolutely love it there. He's in the toddler room ,one of his teachers (Ms.M) just opened up a new infant room, and she is fantastic. If you happened to get a spot in her classroom, your son would be in excellent hands. She used to teach elementary school, and decided that she prefers teaching younger children, and is really excited about infant education. She was my son's favorite teacher, and she's babysat for him outside of school, and he loves her. She's very warm, plays guitar for the kids, taught my son tons of sign language, spent lots of time holding my son, etc. But all of the teachers seem great to me. They're friendly, always say hi to my son when they see him, there's one teacher who isn't in his classroom but who my son has somehow bonded with--he'll run and give her a hug, she tells him she loves him, etc.Anonymous NPN post
I just wanted to tell you how happy we are with our experience at LGT.Shelia has been AMAZING! She is always so positive and happy. She has made Julia feel very at home in the Plum Room. She even has perfected her name and asks for her constantly over the weekends. She also practices all of the things she learns during the day at home with us. It's so fun! Yesterday was a breakthrough... it was the first day she didn't cry as we left in the morning. What a great feeling! Not only is she learning at an exponential rate than she did before LGT and eating amazing food, but to know that she's not at home watching tv or running errands is amazing. She's also sleeping as long as she would at home or longer!!! We are quite shocked and happy for her! I feel like taking her to LGT is a GREAT thing for her... even at this young age.Thank you.We feel so lucky that we found Little Green Treehouse! Parent of a Toddler in our Plum Classroom
My daughter has been attending LGTH since she was nine weeks old. We could not be happier with her daycare. My daughter's teachers are energetic, thoughtful and truly love the babies in their care. As a new mother, I was concerned to leave my daughter in the care of others, but I have peace of mind leaving her in the care of LGTH. I highly recommend LGTH to anyone looking for high quality daycare.Juniper Room Parent
We toured this center and are very impressed. We actually spoke with several child development experts about choosing a daycare center before we began this process. Little Green Tree House meets and exceeds the key quality markers of ratio, teacher education, training, and expertise, daycare center director involvement and oversight. We think this is a wonderful center - - and the beautiful facility and eco-friendly orientation are wonderful perks! Anonymous NPN post
I love my 6 month old daughter's new daycare center in the West Loop and wanted to just rave about it as I don't think too many people know about this wonderful center, which still has openings for all ages! The Little Green Tree House opened mid July and they are in the West Loop on Ashland. We live in Lincoln Park and it's an easy drive down there in the morning on Ashland (then we zip east to the loop and park just west of the river). I love the facility, all the wonderful brand-new toys, the fact that everything is eco-friendly, and, most importantly... the teachers. The teachers are extremely qualified, all have great degrees, and they are very motivated and loving. It's difficult to describe but there is just so much love there for our baby. We had her in [national competitors center] for about 1 month (before the Tree House opened), and It was ok with the care there, but the Little Green Tree House is just a whole other league (for the same price). My daughter is all smiles when we drop her in the morning and we get a lot of feedback when we pick her up at night - which I like and missed a little bit (I want more than "she had a good day"). Also, every Friday we get an email with the "lesson plan" for the next week: an overview of what they will be focusing on, through songs, games, etc. If you are looking for lots of love in a great learning environment, I suggest you go check it out and contact them for a tour! As parents who spent months researching and trying out daycare centers for our son, we can tell you that the Little Green Treehouse ("LGTH") is head-and-shoulders above its competition in Chicago.
Even putting aside the sparkling new classrooms, the wonderful roofdeck playground, and all the eco-friendly features and meals, the key difference between LGTH and its competitors is LGTH's phenominal teachers.
The vast majority of LGTH's teachers have four-year degrees in child development (some even have advanced degrees). As a result, their committment to their profession -- and our kids -- shows. Our son's teachers consistently engage him and his classmates in developmentally appropriate activities and play. They don't just bide their time feeding and changing diapers. They even use baby sign language to encourage their youngest students to communicate at the earliest possible stage. Plus, the weekly emails and lesson plans that we get from our son's teachers demonstrate a remarkably complex understanding of the developmental and social issues that he and his classmates are facing.
The teachers at LGTH are sophisticated, engaging, energetic professionals. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the staff at most other daycare centers.
We are, quite simply, blown away by the quality of care that our son is getting. In fact, we are so impressed with LGTH that we offered to write this testimonial -- to help spread the word about this wonderful gem in the West Loop.
We strongly recommend that you consider introducing your child to what we think is the best daycare center Chicago has to offer.Parent of an Infant in our Bonsai Classroom
I just want to say thank you for such a wonderful beginning to [our daughters'] first educational experience! Seeing her happy little face when I picked her up spoke volumes about her day and that means the world to us. Thank you and good luck with your new school -- I'm certain it will be a great success! As you know, today was John's last day with you all! We are hoping to be able to re-enroll him come later this year or the beginning on next year. I just wanted to write you a quick email to say that I truly appreciate the care that John received while he was at Little Green Tree House. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the quality of the facility but more importantly, the quality of the teachers.Shelia, Lisay and Cary were outstanding! They were patient with John especially during his nap time issues and his transition period and they always were eager to share events from the day and the summaries that were sent home were so helpful! I have told anyone that I come across about how great Little Green Tree House is and I hope that translates into more children enrolling with you!
I was very touched by the card that was sent home with John on his last day that said he would be missed and had little handprints from all his classmates for us to take as a keepsake. This is my first experience with daycare services and you all far exceeded my expectations! Parent of a Toddler in our Peach Classroom
** LGTH had a teacher follow up with a family that started here after pulling their daughter from a one of the largest national competitors as they were unhappy with the educational aspect. The teacher emailed the parent to see how happy she was with our program and this is the response she sent. **
"Samson and I couldn't be more pleased with LGTH; you have by far exceeded our expectations. The fact that you are even inquiring speaks volumes. We have seen so many positive changes in Sophia since her enrollment, from her actions to disposition. Every day she's saying or doing something new that we know is direct result of your classroom and every day we are so thankful. I don't have one ounce of criticism, constructive or otherwise....only thanks! We appreciate you taking the time to ask as well as the open dialogue. We know our most prized possession is in the right classroom." Parent of a Toddler in our Peach ClassroomDear Cynthia, Thank you so much for taking such good care of Mary every day. Knowing that she is in your hands makes me feel a lot better about leaving her and going to work. We can tell that she is learning a lot, and has a great time in the Little Green Treehouse, and we know that this is very much thanks to you. We can also tell that you love her. She is lucky to have you. Parent of an Infant in our Bonsai Classroom
